Spring in Baltimore 2018

Our offices are expanding and going places! We are excited to share that we will be opening a new office in Timonium, MD later this year. You will soon be able to find us at 2066 York Road, in addition to our Eastern Shore and Baltimore City locations. Along with our move, we will be adding new members to our team who we look forward to introducing you to. – John C.M. Angelos, Esquire

Medical Cannabis: Yes, it has arrived at a location near you! Cannabis remains a Schedule 1 controlled substance and is illegal under Federal Law and in thirty other states, including D.C. While medical use is legal (and possession of less than 10 grams is no longer a criminal offense in MD), no one is immune from civil or criminal penalties for being under the influence while operating a car or boat. You should also be aware that it is a felony punishable by up to five years in jail and a $10,000 fine if anyone distributes medical cannabis from a grower, dispensary or a patient.

Facebook: I am litigating a medical malpractice case where the defense wants my injured client to disclose photos from a Facebook account, before and after the injury. This can be a slippery slope. As your attorney, we will discuss, before litigation is instituted, the pitfalls of social media and how we work together to minimize their effect on our case.

Speed Cameras: Yes, they also have arrived at a location near you. Safety for our students is a public service commitment and in Baltimore County and the City, over 100 new cameras have been installed, generally around schools. I was in Criminal Court last week and learned that many school buses are now equipped with a camera that is activated when the buses’ flashing red lights illuminate. Do not pass that yellow bus with the light flashing, you may be photographed and cited.
